F. Elizabeth (Betsy) Brooker LCSW has provided psychotherapy services in Fauquier County since 1985. Over the years, she has deepened the conceptual basis of her services so that she now focuses on the mind-body-spirit connection. This holistic approach moves beyond recovery into a discovery process of personal healing, growth and empowerment.
It is Betsy’s goal to help clients transcend the habitual, reactive and self-defeating patterns of thinking and behaving, which comprise the “little me” of the ego-based self. As these patterns loosen and shift, clients are able to operate out of a higher aspect of the self with a more expansive, loving and fearless experience of life.
Betsy received a Masters’ Degree in (Clinical) Social Work in 1984. In the current decade she has completed two schools, which explore our human journey as both physical and spiritual beings. Most recently she completed the Claritas Institute of Interspiritual Inquiry, which was co-founded by psychologist Joan Borysenko Ph.D.
“I assist individuals, couples and groups to progress into a more peaceful level of living and to discover greater meaning in their lives. It is a privilege to do this work.”
Betsy resided in Fauquier County for over 20 years until a move in the new millennium to the mountains bordering the Shenandoah National Park. She shares her home with her husband (a director at Hospice Support), several dogs and visits from their sons and eight grandchildren.
