Vicki McClave graduated from the State University of New York at Albany in 1989 with a Masters’ Degree in Social Work. Her initial specialty was in Alcohol/Drug addictions and she has a total of 10 yrs experience working in out-patient adult substance abuse treatment programs. Nine years was spent at Prince William Hospital’s outpatient program in Manassa, Virginia after moving to Virginia in 1990.
Substance Abuse often goes hand-in-hand with psychiatric issues, so Vicki gained much experience working with individuals with depression, anxiety, post traumatic stress disorder and the subsequent marital, family and relationship issues.
In 1995 Vicki joined Fauquier Counseling Center part-time, one day a week while still working at Prince William Hospital. Vickie left the hospital in September 1999 to work fulltime at Fauquier Counseling Center. Vicki is now a full partner in the practice.
She offers: Individual, couples and family therapy (including interventions) for issues related to substance abuse, depression, anxiety, post traumatic stress disorder, early stages of eating disorders, life & relationship stressors and grief and loss including dealing with the loss of a beloved pet. Her target clients range in age from 11 years old and up. She is on several different insurance panels and Employee Assistance Programs.
Vicki is a lifelong horsewoman and often can be seen showing her horses at local hunter/jumper shows and some A-rated shows in and around Warrenton, Virginia.
“I have a fairly relaxed approach to doing therapy and often use humor when appropriate to help individuals work through their feelings and behaviors. My office is set up to look like someone’s living room. Come in, have a seat, and tell me all about it.” |
